Chapter Sixteen.

“Mama! Where are you mama?” The distant ghostlike voice of a small child calls to me in the darkness. The sweet giggle echoing through the big hall filled with paintings. I catch a glimpse of an olive skinned, hazel eyed boy, three or maybe four years old; he smiles as he runs to hide from me. “Mama, come find me” His voice sounds long and drawn like something you’d hear in a haunted house, the voice of a ghost as it calls to you. I’m running in slow motion, the long black Gothic tutu style dress flowing behind me, my long dark brown wavy hair blowing in the breeze. I hear my own giggle as he laughs, knowing I’m almost upon him.

I follow him turning a corner in the hall of paintings. “Found you!” I call as he stands facing me with his hands by his sides. But he’s no longer the happy little boy of a moment ago, he’s pale and sickly looking. His little face filled with fear as he reaches little hands out to me. I stretch out my fingertips to touch him, but he’s too far away. “Reach out your hand. Touch mommy’s fingers. Please, baby boy” There’s a shadow behind him; I can’t see his face just an outline in the shadows.

Hands lift my little boy from the ground, while he screams for me to help him “Mama!” He calls, and I scream silent screams as I run and run down the never ending corridor.....

“No...! No! Please, Xavier, come back...!”

“Mercy. Baby, wake up,” Hands shake me, a voice calls me.

“What?” I mumble sleepily.

“Baby, you’re having a nightmare. Open your eyes for me there’s a good girl”

I force my eyes open as best I can, while blinking at the bright light that fills my room. He must have opened my curtains. “I was? I’m sorry,” I try to sound like I don’t remember my dream, but I do, vividly. I pull myself up into a sitting position, I almost instantly realize I’m still naked. Crap! I pull the sheet up over my breasts and under my arms. Blake’s all fresh and dressed in pale blue jeans, and white tank, no socks or shoes though. Damn, he looks hot dressed like this, his muscle clad arms and tanned skin so visible to me. God, he looks yummy sitting in front of me on the bed, looking into my eyes with sweet concern. How did I get so lucky? How did I end up dating the worlds hottest man? Well, in the eyes of millions of women that’s what Blake is.

“You have a lot of bad dreams, don’t you?” I nod. “Was it about your little boy?” I nod again but I really don’t want to talk about it. I just want to try and forget what happened for a little while. I know I should have told him that I’d had a child before I met him, but I didn’t feel I could confide that in him yet.
